![]() ![]() The stark design contrast between the Lander and the Ranger ![]() ![]() It remains capable of atmospheric flight, but has insufficient fuel to return to orbit. With the amount of fuel available after delivering supplies to Mann's planet and pushing the Endurance out of orbit, only two cargo pods were delivered to the surface of Edmunds. Lander 2 was later flown by Brand and CASE to reach the surface of Edmunds' planet. The craft could potentially have survived with TARS, later found in orbit around Saturn. However, unlike the Ranger, the Lander was well armored, enabling TARS to travel through accretion disk debris, study the singularity, and enter the Tesseract. It is presumed that the craft was destroyed when entering Gargantua. It is probable that Lander 1's supplies were transferred to the Endurance before being ejected with TARS when it ran out of fuel. Lander 1 is used as an expendable rocket booster when performing a powered sling-shot around Gargantua. Cooper, with the help of TARS, manage to use Lander 1 to dock with the ship, stop its spin, and boost it out of orbit. This causes rapid decompression that destroys Ranger 1 and sets the Endurance on a deadly spin, falling out of orbit. Mann to orbit, where he docked to the Endurance first, but imperfectly. While Dr Mann stole Ranger 1 after Romilly's death, Cooper and Brand picked up TARS and followed Dr. Brand uses the same Lander to rescue Cooper after Dr. Mann's planet, delivering two cargo pods to its icy surface. Landers can be piloted by either humans or robots, and are used to transport supply pods to a planetary surface from the Endurance.ĬASE pilots Lander 1 down to Dr. They appear attached to the Endurance on opposite sides of the central docking hub, (Lander 1 on starboard with Lander 2 on the port side). Landers were built under the guise of a supply vehicle for a future mission to Mars, but secretly intended for the Endurancemission. Two Landers were used in the Endurance mission, named Lander 1 and Lander 2. It is designed to deliver supplies and shelters down to planetary surfaces. If it means what I think it means I'll either have to redo all the colliders or some parts will be gliding through others. The Lander is a single-stage-to-orbit (SSTO) heavy lifting spacecraft built and used by NASA. The things about Colliders worry me - lots of the parts rely on non-convex collision meshes for part-part collisions due to the complexity of the parts. Likely the Unity 5 update will break some stuff too. Adapters for 3.75m and 5.0m ranger launches Endurance engine texture work - it's pretty much plain white at the moment, should be darker and have ridges and details IVAs for all parts (deplorable lab is near done) ![]() Heat balancing for whatever 1.0.3 throws at us Bug fixes (including ranger engine issue) Probably the next update will come out after 1.0.3.įeature list for next update (which I'll be calling 1.0 - no more content added after this with the exception of bug fixes and compatibility): Yes, sorry, that bug will be fixed next version! Not much time on my hands with exams at the moment but I've been working through fixing minor bugs. ![]()
